Alzheimer’s Rehabilitation Program at PYONG Rehabilitation

The Alzheimer's rehabilitation programme at PYONG Rehabilitation

Cared for by a team of specialist physicians, combining advanced treatment and rehabilitation technology, in the heart of Bangkok

Why choose PYONG Rehabilitation?

Alzheimer's affects memory, thinking, communication, and daily life. Our programme brings together rehabilitation physicians, occupational therapists, psychologists, and nutritionists to design a personalised care plan, with technology that helps train the brain and restore memory — everything in one place, at PYONG Rehabilitation Penthouse, Floor 11, Gaysorn Tower (BTS Chidlom).

Alzheimer's care at PYONG Rehabilitation

Common symptoms

  • Memory decline, starting with difficulty remembering recent events
  • Disorientation as to time and place
  • Difficulty speaking and finding the right words
  • Difficulty planning or solving basic problems
  • Changes in mood and personality

The approach to care at PYONG Rehabilitation

1. Assessment of brain and physical ability

A team of rehabilitation physicians, occupational therapists and physiotherapists assesses memory, perception and communication, together with tests of physical fitness such as balance and muscle testing.

2. Planning rehabilitation for the individual

Together with the patient and the family, we set the goals for brain training and rehabilitation activity, and coordinate the multidisciplinary team — nutritionist, psychiatrist, or other therapists — as needed.

3. Intensive therapy and brain training

Using Cognitive Training applications, practice in activities of daily living (ADL) such as bathing, dressing and light cooking, and occupational therapy to reclaim life skills, with results followed up every week.

4. Regulating mood and behaviour

Psychological counselling, treatment with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), and medication adjusted by specialist physicians, to support a stable mood and reduce stress.

5. Educating and supporting the family

Updating progress, and teaching carers how to communicate and arrange a suitable routine, for effective continued care at home.
