Customized Insole at PYONG Rehabilitation
In short
Custom foot orthoses may support the foot and redistribute pressure in selected conditions, but they do not correct the whole body or prevent every injury.
What is the insole specific to the individual?
The insole specific to the individual (Customized Insole) is a supporting piece of equipment designed specifically for each individual, in order to support the shape and the alignment of the foot. It is made from high-quality material that helps reduce impact force and distribute the weight effectively, helping adjust the balance of walking and standing, in order to reduce the symptoms of pain and increase comfort while in use
Who should use an insole specific to the individual?
- Those who have a state of a high arched foot (High Arche Foot): there is too much pressure on the sole of the foot and the heel, giving rise to symptoms of pain in the back, the heel, and the ankle
- Those who have a state of a flat foot (Flat Foot): there is no arch of the foot to support the weight, with the result that symptoms of pain in the foot, the knee, and the hip may arise from walking for a long time
- Those who have symptoms of chronic plantar fasciitis: symptoms of inflammation from the fascia at the sole of the foot can give rise to chronic symptoms of pain in the foot and the heel
- Those who have a corn or abnormally hard skin (Corn/ Callus): the abnormal distribution of weight on the sole of the foot can give rise to hard skin or a corn
- Those who have a deformed shape of foot (Foot Deformity): a deformed shape of foot from various diseases, such as a bent big toe (Hallux Valgus), a foot deformed from rheumatoid disease (Rheumatoid arthritis), a foot deformed from a diabetic foot (Diabetic Foot), giving rise to pain in the sole of the foot, the ankle, the knee, and the lower back
The abnormal character of the shape of the foot affects the individual in several respects, making the body out of balance, with the weight going onto some particular points of the flesh of the foot, giving rise to symptoms of pain and to symptoms of injury at the area of the foot, through to symptoms in the leg, the hip, and others. The insole specific to the individual has an important role in putting right the problem of the imbalance of the foot, helping reduce the symptoms of pain and prevent accumulated injury in the long term

Why the insole specific to the individual at our clinic should be chosen?
At PYONG Rehabilitation Clinic we give importance to caring for patients as a whole, because the symptoms of pain at some point may have their cause in a problem that seems unconnected. For example, a patient who comes with symptoms of hip pain may have their cause in an abnormal shape of foot, which gives rise to an imbalance while standing and walking. Therefore we analyse the symptoms comprehensively, in order to be sure that the patient receives the treatment that is right at the point and suits best
- Measuring and designing by experts in the field of rehabilitation medicine: every step is carried out by expert physicians, for the best result. The insole is made with high-quality instruments and materials by a team of orthotists expert in the making of insoles directly
- Care and the following of the result after use: we follow the result closely, and adjust the insole so that it is suitable when it is necessary
The questions met often about the insole specific to the individual
- How long can the insole be used? An insole of good quality can be used for about 1-2 years, depending on the frequency and the condition of use
- Must the insole be used at all times? It should be worn when doing activities that require standing or walking for a long time, in order to prevent symptoms of pain and injury, and it is recommended to wear it with the pair of shoes used regularly, so that the highest benefit is received
- Are there side effects in its use? An insole designed specifically for the individual has no side effects, but in some cases a new user may feel uncomfortable or have slight pain in the first period. It is recommended to wear the insole for only a few hours each day, take it off, rest the foot, and gradually increase the length of time of wearing, until the body can adapt completely. An assessment should be received from an expert so that it suits the state of the body
