Golf Rehabilitation & Performance Protocol

In golf, a powerful swing places enormous rotational force on the body. The Golf Rehabilitation & Performance Protocol is designed for golfers at every level, from beginners to professionals. Rather than focusing only on treating injuries, we focus on “improving swing performance” while helping prevent injury—especially at the lower back, the area where golfers most often experience recurrent injury.

Core Care Team

You are supported by a multidisciplinary team with a specific understanding of golf mechanics:

  • Physiatrist: Evaluates concerns involving the spine, discs and deep muscles through physical examination, using MSK Ultrasound where clinically appropriate to help identify the source of pain during rotation.
  • Sports Physical Therapist: Analyses golf biomechanics and the joint relationships that affect the swing.

Service Highlights

  • Back Pain Care: Assesses joint, muscle, and movement-pattern factors that may contribute to back pain.
  • Swing Health: Supports swing control and force transfer according to each golfer's capacity and safety.
  • Collaborative Care: Physicians and physiotherapists work together to protect spinal alignment and maximize safety.

4-Phase Recovery Pathway

Phase 1: Deep Assessment & Medical Screening

We analyse the physical “limitations” that keep you from swinging at full capacity:

  • Medical Diagnostic: Screens chronic back pain, pain radiating to the hip, or Golfer’s Elbow.
  • Golf Movement Screening (TPI Style): Analyses physical factors using international standards, including:
    • Thoracic Mobility: Rotation of the thoracic spine; restriction here can immediately contribute to lower-back pain.
    • Hip Internal Rotation: Hip rotation to reduce back load during follow-through.
    • X-Factor Analysis: Separation between shoulder and hip rotation to generate power.
  • Full Body Analysis: Uses AI technology and infrared cameras to assess body balance and foot loading.

Phase 2: Pain & Tissue Management

Pain is managed with advanced medical technology:

  • High-Power Laser & Focused Shockwave: Help reduce inflammation and address adhesions at muscle attachments of the back or hip.
  • Dry Needling: Releases trigger points caused by repeated muscle use.
  • Spinal Mobilization: Addresses restricted spinal joints so rotation can move more smoothly.
  • Magnetic Stimulation (PMS): Uses magnetic waves to stimulate deep nerves and muscles and reduce sharp, electric-like pain.

Phase 3: Functional Restoration

Build a strong physical foundation to protect the back:

  • Core-Pelvic Stability: Trains pelvic and trunk control to tolerate large rotational forces.
  • Hip & Glute Activation: Activates the hip muscles to become the main force transmitters instead of straining the back.
  • NMES Assisted Training: Stimulates the deep back muscles, including the multifidus, for spinal stability.

Phase 4: Return to Play & Performance

Prepare to return to play according to symptom, movement, and strength criteria:

  • Rotational Power Training: Trains explosive rotation to increase club-head speed.
  • Kinetic Chain Integration: Trains the complete force sequence from the feet, through the hips and trunk, to the golf club.
  • Swing Fault Correction: Advises on safer technique, such as correcting S-Posture or a Reverse Spine Angle.
  • Intensive: 2 sessions per week (during the initial 4 weeks)
  • Maintenance: 1–2 sessions per month (to maintain performance and help prevent recurrent injury)

Fees: from THB 3,800 per session

Note: This program prioritizes spinal-alignment safety and can be adapted to the actual physical condition of each person receiving care.
