Biography and qualifications

Wissarut Sakulpaptong, MD (Dr Voke) is a specialist physician in the field of cardiovascular internal medicine.

He graduated Doctor of Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, in 2016. After that he completed a Higher Graduate Diploma, Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, and a Master's degree, the MSc programme in the field of medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, with the Diploma of the Thai Subspecialty Board in Cardiology.

At present he is a teaching physician, Department of Medicine, division of cardiovascular internal medicine, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital.

Advanced Echocardiography – advanced examination of the heart with reflected sound waves

• Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) – examination of the heart with reflected sound waves through the chest
• Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) – examination of the heart with reflected sound waves through the oesophagus
• Strain analysis – the analysis of torsion, or Strain
• Strain 3D echocardiography – examination of the heart with reflected sound waves in 3 dimensions

Advisory positions and creative work for society

• Developed the approach to diagnosis, treatment, and referral of patients with Non ST-elevation Myocardial Infarction at Khun Han Hospital, in order to reduce the risk of complications arising and let patients receive correct treatment, suited also to the resources of the hospital
• Established the Screening Echocardiogram project, with the goal of reducing the workload of Sisaket Hospital and of diagnosing heart conditions at the outset in patients with an abnormal history and physical examination, for patients unable to go for treatment at the regional hospital because of problems of money and travel
• Developed the home-visit physician project for the warfarin clinic, with the goal of finding the cause of INR values not reaching the target in patients, and of promoting the correct taking of warfarin
• Adviser on the layout of the service system of the new emergency room, Khun Han Hospital
• Co-organiser of the project creating an innovation in patient care, in the form of a Mobile Application called Smart Stroke Alert, an application with the goal of reducing the rate of stroke arising in at-risk patients and reducing the time for stroke patients to reach the service. It was selected for presentation to the Minister of Public Health, Clinical Professor Emeritus Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn, MD, at the 20th HA Forum: Change & Collaboration for Sustainability
