Tennis Rehabilitation & Performance Protocol
Tennis Rehabilitation and Return-to-Play Preparation
The Tennis Rehabilitation & Performance Protocol is designed for players at every level. It assesses symptoms, tissue status, movement patterns, and sport demands to plan rehabilitation and an individualized return to play.
Specialist Care Team
- Physiatrist: Assesses structural and soft-tissue concerns through physical examination, using MSK Ultrasound where clinically appropriate to support diagnosis.
- Sports Physical Therapist: Analyses biomechanics and manages pain with therapeutic procedures and modern equipment.
Service Highlights
- No Quick Fix: We do more than relieve pain; we address the movement patterns that contribute to it.
- Sports-Specific: The program is designed specifically for tennis movements, not general physiotherapy.
- Continuity of Care: Physicians and physiotherapists communicate throughout care to adjust the program according to actual treatment progress.
4-Phase Recovery Pathway
Phase 1: Deep Assessment & Medical Screening
We begin with a detailed examination of “weak points” and “risks”:
- Medical Assessment: Assesses chronic conditions such as Tennis Elbow and injuries involving the rotator cuff or Achilles tendon.
- Tennis Movement Screening: Analyses tennis-specific movement, including trunk rotation, shoulder flexibility during the serve and balance during lateral movement.
- Advanced Technology: Uses MSK Ultrasound to assess tendon integrity, plus AI & Infrared Camera systems for full-body structural analysis.
Phase 2: Pain & Tissue Management
Adjunct techniques are selected according to symptoms, indications, and precautions:
- High-Power Laser & Focused Shockwave: Help reduce inflammation and address adhesions or calcification at elbow and shoulder attachment points.
- Dry Needling / Magnetic Stimulation: Releases trigger points and stimulates the nervous system.
- Manual Technique: Mobilises joints to increase restricted range of motion.
Phase 3: Functional Restoration
Fine-tune the body to move smoothly like a machine:
- Scapular Stability Training: Builds scapular stability to transfer force through the swing more effectively.
- Core-Pelvic Control: Builds trunk strength to reduce the load on the lower back.
- NMES Assisted Training: Uses electrical stimulation to activate muscles.
- Kinetic Chain Integration: Trains force transfer from the feet to the hips, back, shoulders and wrist (chain of movement).
- Isokinetic Exercise for Rotator Cuff: Strengthens the muscles around the shoulder with constant-speed resistance exercise to build joint strength.
Phase 4: Return to Court & Performance
Prepare for real matches:
- Agility Drills: Trains footwork and rapid direction changes in the style required for tennis.
- Power & Explosive Training: Builds serve power and initial acceleration.
- Injury Prevention Education: Teaches pre-match and post-match stretching for sustainable self-care.
Recommended Schedule
- Intensive: 2 sessions per week (during the initial 1–4 weeks)
- Maintenance: once every 2 weeks or once a month (to maintain fitness)
- From THB 3,800 per session
