Core Training is training in order to strengthen the stability of the pelvis and the spine, in order to reduce and prevent injury, and to help the transmission of force to the various parts of the body work well, with the principle of strengthening the muscles in order to reduce the bending of the spine and the movement between the ribs and the pelvis, which can be divided into 4 large types
1. Isometric Core Exercises
The training of the muscles of the middle part of the trunk by creating force without movement of the muscles, such as planking or the side plank
2. Anti - Rotational Core Exercises
This is a type of training similar to Isometric Exercise, but with the difference in the postures in the training, which aim at training the part of the muscles that has an effect on the bending of the spine, such as using the pallof press machine or the shoulder-tap push-up posture
3. Isotonic Core Exercises (Sagittal Plane / Transverse Plane)
This is a type of training of the muscles that strengthens the muscles of the trunk that are not at the middle of the body (Eccentric), which emphasises training in order to move the muscles in the plane dividing the front and the back, and the muscles in the transverse plane that divides the upper and the lower part of the body, such as the sit-up or the medicine ball russian twists posture
4. Ballistic and Plyometric Core Exercises
This is the training of the muscles that uses force from the muscles of the middle part of the trunk (Concentric) without the muscles at the side area (Eccentric) being involved, such as the jump squats or medicine ball slams posture
All these postures of training exist in order to strengthen the stability and the strenght of the muscles of the core of the trunk, which directly affects the capability of the body. It is therefore training of the muscles and exercise that should be done regularly and continuously, for a good quality of life and health
