A hunched back, rounded shoulders, a jutting neck (Kyphosis)
A hunched back, rounded shoulders, a jutting neck (Kyphosis) is an abnormality of the spine that causes an abnormal outward curve. It may arise from the area of the cervical spine, the thoracic spine, or the shoulder joint in the form of unbalanced working. It can arise from several causes; the one most often found in adolescents and those of working age is a hunched back arising from an incorrect posture over a long period (Postural Kyphosis), such as bending the back, sitting at work unsuitably, or carrying baggage that is too heavy, which may make the tendons and the muscles pull the spine out of shape.
However, at whatever age, there are injuries of the spine and other diseases such as degenerative spine disease or osteoporosis. In diagnosing the cause correctly, a doctor should be seen in order to find the true cause. But a hunched back arising from an unsuitable posture over a long period can be put right at first with the postures according to the following advice. It is a combination of building up the strength of the core muscles and increasing the flexibility of the muscles of the back. Do it every 1-2 days continuously for a good result.
